Confidentiality and Privacy Policy

LOGIS is committed to protecting information transmitted over the Internet and to respecting your privacy, when you conduct online transactions and once information has been collected during certain commercial activities carried out or supported by LOGIS. For these reasons, LOGIS has adopted a policy on protecting personal information. The purpose of this policy is to establish responsible and transparent practices for the management of personal information in all our customer relations.

This Confidentiality and Privacy Policy informs you about:

  • The security measures that LOGIS has set up to protect your information and privacy;
  • The nature of personal information collected about you when you register for courses, when you use the site; and
  • The reasons why this personal information is collected, how it is used and to whom it may be disclosed.

LOGIS reserves the right to make changes to this policy at any time, effective immediately upon posting on the website, without incurring any liability to you or any other person. If we make any changes to the policy’s terms and conditions, we will post the new policy on the website and indicate the date of the most recent update.

Confidentiality and security

LOGIS undertakes to keep confidential any personal information that you may provide, either through your use of the site or otherwise.

The LOGIS website uses SSL secure transmission standards. This means that your personal and credit card information is sent in the form of an encrypted electronic message, guaranteeing the confidentiality of the information contained therein. As a result, the information transmitted cannot be intercepted, altered, or decoded by a third-party. In addition, LOGIS’s servers are protected by a firewall technology.

However, no security mechanism is perfect, and there remains a small risk that the personal information you provide to LOGIS may be disclosed, through no fault of LOGIS and without your consent. LOGIS will assume no responsibility for the disclosure of such personal and confidential information, except in the case of negligence by LOGIS.

Please note that, for your security, no credit card information is kept on LOGIS’s servers. LOGIS does not store any computer data from any transaction regarding credit information. This means that you must resubmit your credit information for each new transaction.

Personal information collected by LOGIS about customers

LOGIS only collects the personal information that you provide when you make a purchase or register for courses online. This also includes the information you provide when you comment on our Facebook, Twitter or LinkedIn web pages.

The personal information collected includes your name, address, telephone number, email address, gender (male/female) and, if you agree, certain other information. By providing your personal information, you consent to the collection, use and disclosure of such personal information for the purposes and in the circumstances set out in the policy.

Information collected automatically

We receive and store certain information whenever you communicate with us. For example, like many websites, the LOGIS website may use “cookies” which allow us to obtain certain information when your browser accesses LOGIS.ca.

Use of the personal information collected by LOGIS

The personal information that LOGIS collects about you (on the site or otherwise) allows it to open an account in your name, process your order, contact you about a course, provide you with after-sales service, respond appropriately to your requests for technical support, personalize its relationship with you and, if you authorize LOGIS to do so, send you information about LOGIS’s products and services.

We may also use your personal information for statistical purposes to the extent required by law, including court orders, promotional activities and, more generally, to improve our services.

Unless you consent otherwise, the personal information collected is only used by LOGIS in accordance with this policy.

Which third parties may have access to your personal information?

Your personal information may be disclosed to our related companies and/or to service providers who assist or participate in any aspect of our business operations or in the management of our services. Our service providers are subject to confidentiality agreements and other legal restrictions that prohibit the use of information for any purpose other than to facilitate their specific subcontracting mandate.

LOGIS may also disclose your personal information to the extent required by law, including under court orders.

The personal information collected on the site will not be shared with third parties, except under the conditions mentioned above. LOGIS would like you to know that it does not sell its user lists. Should such a situation arise, LOGIS will ensure that appropriate confidentiality measures are in place.

Unless you consent otherwise, the personal information collected will only be communicated to LOGIS.

LOGIS may also disclose your personal information to a third party in the event of a change of ownership, or the granting of a security interest, in all or part of LOGIS through, for example, a sale of assets or shares, or any other form of business coalition, merger, amalgamation or joint venture or as otherwise permitted by law.
